Classes

Learning is a never ending process and we have developed several courses to help ensure that you are informed and educated when it comes to cross-connection control and protecting your drinking water.

We offer half-day, full-day and multi-day classes depending on the topic and your needs. Every class can be customized to emphasize the topics you are most interested in.

We take care of all of the CEU paperwork so all you have to do is show up to class.

Classes are held at your facility for your convenience and to minimize costs. Recommended maximum class size is 25 students to ensure each attendee receives proper attention.

Share the cost

Get the biggest bang for your dollar. Partnering with other utilities or businesses is recommended when scheduling a class. Cost of each class is dependent on contact hours not class size.

Backflow 101

This class provides an introduction to backflow and cross-connection control. Attendees will gain valuable knowledge of the following:

Backflow/Cross-connection control terminology
Principles of backflow and how it occurs
Introduction to devices and assemblies
Proper application/installation of backflow assemblies

This is a half day course with an eligibility for 0.3 Drinking Water CEU's

Developing/Implementing Cross-Connection Control Programs

This course is for both the water purveyor and the private businesses. Attendees will learn all of the items in our Backflow 101 course plus:

Preparing a written cross-connection control plan
Aspects of public education and how they can help
Implementing a cross-connection control program
Understanding and applying the minimum elements of a cross-connection control program as defined by WAC 246-290-490

This can be either a full day or a two day course depending on client needs. The full day course has an eligibility for 0.7 Drinking Water CEU's and the two day course has an eligibility for 1.4 Drinking Water CEU's

Incident Response

What do you do during a drinking water incident? This course will help you to be prepared for all types of water quality or backflow related issues.

How to identify when an incident occurs
Principles of the Incident Command System
Key actions to ensure your water system is safe and recovery actions if a contamination event occurs
Table top exercises based on real incidents that have recently occurred in the State of Washington

This can be either a half day or a full day course depending on client needs. The half day course has an eligibility for 0.3 Drinking Water CEU's and the full day course has an eligibility for 0.7 Drinking Water CEU's

Monitoring Plans and Water Sampling

This is a full day course that covers why monitoring plans are important, how to write them and how to properly perform water quality sampling. This is a hands on class where attendees will obtain water samples, complete the paperwork and demonstrate proficiency.

Sample evolutions to be covered include:

Bacteriological (Coliform)
Inorganic sampling
Organic sampling (SOC, VOC, SVOC)
Radiological sampling
Special purpose sampling

This full day course has an eligibility for 0.7 Drinking Water CEU's
